Presented to the public for the first time in summer 2011 at WestLicht Vienna, Austria, this inspiring profile of the Polaroid Collection is now traveling to NRW-Forum Kultur und Wirtschaft in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The exhibition shows a representative profile of the recently saved, legendary, European part of the Polaroid Collection, featuring works by photographers such as Ansel Adams or Andy Warhol. Next to the big names, there are also many works of outstanding photographers unknown on the art market until now.
Beyond, the exhibition is complemented with fresh photographs taken on new Impossible film by artists such as Nobuyoshi Araki or Stefanie Schneider. This contemporary artworks are bridging the gap of analog instant photography's past, present and future.
Accompanying the exhibition, there will be an Impossible Pop Up Shop at NRW-Forum as well as a new edition of the companion book „From Polaroid to Impossible / Masterpieces of Instant Photography – The Westlicht Collection“, published by Hatje Cantz.
