PX 100 Silver Shade Cool

The new PX 100 Silver Shade COOL film exhibits an improved performance based on the latest findings in instant film production. For long lasting premium results store unopened film packs in the fridge around 5-10°C. Please do not freeze the film!

As the camera ejects the picture, do IMMEDIATELY shield it from light (e.g. with your hand, a darkslide, shoot into a box, etc...) - the first half second is crucial! See also this tutorial video box type cameras / tutorial video folding cameras

Due to the high filmspeed of this material we recommend adjusting the lighten/darken wheel or slider of your camera 1/3 into the dark setting.

This is really beautiful film to work with. The contrast and tones is produces are superb. The only other better B&W instant film is the Fuji FP-3000b which produces extremely rich tones and near-perfect contrast that TIP has almost reached. Another thing that I'm sure TIP is working on is the light sensitivity and film speed. I hope that in the near future TIP incorporates their Colour protection formula to the Silver Shade film. When they have done that, I'll be sure to rate that later when it does come out. For now, I might occasionally buy this film, only reason is that the FP-3000b is much cheaper and comes w/ 10 exposures; TIP please follow in suit with Fuji's example! Absolutely love this film though!

beautiful film but difficult to work with.

I am so in love with the tones of this film but it took me around 4-5 exposures to get it right. This film is so much more sensitive than the color film. The pictures were prone to being too light and washed out, so I had to set the dial much darker than I would have normally done. The photos were beautiful, but I feel like I spent $30.00 for 3 decent exposures.

    50 SHADES OF B&W

I bought a 5 pack of silver shade cool and a frog tongue at the Black Friday sale. I hadn't used my folding SX-70 camera in over 10 years. I put the film in and attached the frog tongue and the camera worked right away. I found that setting the dial to 1/3 darker still left the pictures a bit light. But if you like a light, vintage pictures look, 1/3 might work for you. I found it worked best with 1/2 darker outside in open shade, and all the way dark, outside in direct sunlight, but that might just be my camera. The black and white tones are beautiful. It reminds me of when I used to shoot 35mm Ilford B&W film from England. I'm hooked and will certainly be buying more film.

    Wonderful film

This film impressed me much more than the colour shade surprisingly. It has fewer undeveloped patches, the images appear to be a little bit sharper, and the contrast is splendid. The silver shade also allows you broaden your creativity with both the majestic retro shot, and the eerie darker shots. The photo develops much faster than the colour shade and is less sensitive to light. The black and white is spectacular when being creative with your Polaroid SX-70 or 600.

    This month's favorite...

I can see myself burning through a bunch of this stuff in the next few weeks- it's just plain great! I'm into my second pack and even the shots I screwed up look incredible. Very crisp and defined tones, sharp and even throughout. Not nearly as sensitive about shielding as some previous batches and they seem to develop a little faster too. Yet another big step forward in the re-invention of integral film! I'm shooting mine in a folding SX-70 Sonar and have actually been leaving the light wheel at it's normal center position without any overexposure issues, but that may just be my camera. Beautiful stuff, all around. It certainly lives up to the name "COOL"...
