ANALOG INSTANT DEVICES

For the last 18 months we have worked hard to turn our vision of a new analog instant camera optimized to the needs of today’s photographers into reality. Always looking for the best solution our dream was to

1. Develop a highly advanced, high precision device for the most essential part of an instant camera: the FPU (Film Processing Unit) that processes and develops Impossible instant film

2. At the same time this unit should be a flexible and modular device to serve as a basis for a whole range of completely new camera and hardware concepts

Today we can proudly inform you about the fact that this vision has turned into a reality: we are holding the first working prototype of the innovative Impossible FPU in our hands. Made possible thanks to our partner DHW of the former ROLLEI factory, long-time head of R&D at Polaroid Henny Waanders and Prof. Achim Heine, designer of the LEICA Digilux 1 camera.

The FPU will serve as the basis for a range of new analog instant gear to be introduced in 2013. First camera concept studies based on the new FPU will be presented at Photokina in September 2012.

INSTANT LAB

AN IMPOSSIBLE IDEA TO FINALLY
FUSE DIGITAL AND ANALOG

On our journey toward inventing a new analog instant camera, we created the incredible Instant Lab. This revolutionary device is based on the new Impossible FPU and bridges the worlds of digital and analog photography, turning pixelated iPhone images into unique and real analog instant photos on Impossible film.

Today we are launching a Kickstarter campaign to raise the necessary funds to turn our working prototype into a final product. Supporters of this campaign will receive units before the public in February 2013.
