Ghana Metal Camera Replica
The Impossible Ghana Camera is a remarkable replica of the SX-70 camera, made in the streets of Accra, Ghana. With imagination and skill teenagers in Ghana have created this amazing object out of nothing but old scrap metal. With their version of the SX 70 camera they have achieved something that engineers can only dream of: they reduced the weight of the original from 800 g to only 170 g and made the construction even more compact. The downside? Optics, mechanics and everything else necessary to shoot a photo are missing. But that's a small sacrifice, THIS camera allows you to create fantastical images that can only be created with the mind’s eye.

% of proceeds going to charity?
|
|
| 006 |
this product would be particularly appealing if it actually specified how much of the proceeds are actually going to the cause. $64.99 is great donation to make to a charity but is a high price to pay prior to any confirmation as to where it's all going.

Special item needs care

whenever something as special as this comes along, and with a good story behind it too, i make it a point to get more than a couple of items to support the art. and so i got 4 of these. however, somewhere along, in transit, two out of the four arrived in pieces. and so i have to recreate what the artisans did in Ghana now. i just wished something as special as this was packed a little bit better than shredded brown paper.
